The new
generation of sage, environmentally friendly fire protection systems

FM200 gas
suppression systems:
Today FM200 is available as the new environmentally acceptable
solution to replace Halon 1301 which was offering excellent fire
protection for critical assets. Since the manufacture of Halon 1301,
which was found to be one of the agents causing Ozone layer
depletion and contributing to the global warming effect, is
prohibited since 1993 in USA and is agreed by GATT to be phased out
from the use, the critical need for a clean, efficient,
environmentally acceptable and people safe extinguishing agent
remained. An agent that is effective for fires involving paper,
cellulosics and flammable liquids is required.
FM 200 was one of the agents that were developed to replace Halon
1301, that meets all of these needs.
While all the proposed alternative systems will be more expensive
than halon 1301, an FM 200 system will be one of the most economical
options. The reason being:
FM 200 is a viable, long term halon replacement.
FM 200 does not contribute to stratospheric ozone depletion.
