Fike FM-200TM Clean Agent Fire Extinguishing Systems

The new generation of sage, environmentally friendly fire protection systems

FM200 gas suppression systems:

Today FM200 is available as the new environmentally acceptable solution to replace Halon 1301 which was offering excellent fire protection for critical assets. Since the manufacture of Halon 1301, which was found to be one of the agents causing Ozone layer depletion and contributing to the global warming effect, is prohibited since 1993 in USA and is agreed by GATT to be phased out from the use, the critical need for a clean, efficient, environmentally acceptable and people safe extinguishing agent remained. An agent that is effective for fires involving paper, cellulosics and flammable liquids is required.

FM 200 was one of the agents that were developed to replace Halon 1301, that meets all of these needs.

While all the proposed alternative systems will be more expensive than halon 1301, an FM 200 system will be one of the most economical options. The reason being:

FM 200 is a viable, long term halon replacement.
FM 200 does not contribute to stratospheric ozone depletion.

SFFECO is a proud distributor of FIKE FM 200 systems and has achieved the UL approval for the initial filling station  for  Fike protection systems.

Carbon Dioxide Fire Suppression Systems

CO2 Gas suppression systems:

SFFECO offers a unique high pressure Carbon di oxide fire suppression system to minimize the potential for loss of life and property in today’s highly specialized environments. When designed, installed and maintained per NFPA 12, SFFECO systems can be used safely and effectively in a variety of special hazard applications.

The advantages of Carbon di oxide fire suppression system is:
  Fast
  Effective
  Non Damaging
  Electrically non conductive
  Versatile.

Carbon di oxide has has a high ratio of expansion which facilitates rapid discharge and allows for three dimensional penetration of the entire hazard area quickly.

Carbon di oxide extiguishes a fire by reducing the oxygen content of the protected area below the point where it can support combustion. Due to extreme density of Carbon di oxide, it quickly and effectively permeates the protected hazard area and suppress the fire. Rapid expansion of the “ snow’ to gas reduces the ambient temperature in the protected hazard area which aids in the extinguishing process and retards re-ignition

When designed, engineered and installed properly, carbon di oxide systems will not normally damage sensitive electronic equipment. Carbon di oxide has no residual clean up associated with its use as a fire suppressing agent. When it is properly ventilated, the gas escapes to atmosphere, after the fire has been extinguished.

Carbon di oxide can be used to protect a wide variety of hazards, from delicate electronic equipment to high voltage electrical equipment, without danger or damage.

The unique extinguishing properties of carbon di oxide allow it to be used in wide range of special hazards. SFFECO Carbon dioxide systems are available for use in total flooding or local application type protection systems.
